Our region

Electra is very fortunate to be based in two magnificent regions starting with Paekakariki in the Kapiti Coast through to Tokomaru in the Horowhenua region.

The Kapiti Coast

The Kapiti Coast is an easy 50 minute drive north of Wellington City with five main townships of Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu, Waikanae and Otaki.

Kapiti Island, which is approximately 5 kilometres offshore from Paraparaumu, is home to many of New Zealand’s endangered birds and is one of a few accessible islands.

Kapiti Coast is one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand. Not only does the Kapiti Coast provide better lifestyle and a warm climate, it has also has a wide range of excellent recreation facilities such as Southwards Car Museum, Nga Manu Nature Reserve, Lindale Farm Complex and the Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course which is rated in the top 100 courses of the world. The Otaki and Waikanae Rivers also offer exciting recreational opportunities.

The Horowhenua

Nestled between the magnificent Tararua mountain range with their beautiful rivers, native bush and the spectacular beaches of the North Island’s west coast, lies Horowhenua.

Horowhenua is truly Heartland New Zealand with an economy built around the lifestyles of rural New Zealand.

Horowhenua has many special attributes the soils are rich alluvial, the climate is temperate. These two factors make this one of the best growing regions in The Country. We are the market garden of the lower North Island.
